The Facebook CEO recently sat down with Fox News’ Dana Perino amid a censorship battle between Twitter and The White House. Zuckerberg explains his stance is different from Jack Dorsey and Twitter’s stance of “connecting the dots” and that he plans to take a more hands off approach utilizing less censorship going forward.
Since their creation social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter have operated as public forums and are provided legal protections based on that. Actions such as Twitter’s latest addition of a link under a Tweet from President Trump suggested that the platform has now begun to challenge and take their own stances on very debatable topics to say the least. Twitter is essentially and now of all times challenging President Trump’s claim that an extensive new mail in ballot system is potentially ripe for fraud on both sides.
